Oppo is scheduled to launch the next-generation selfie-centric Oppo F5 smartphone on October 26 in the Philippines. The company has started to send out media invites for the launch event. Touted as a selfie expert handset, the upcoming Oppo F5 will be equipped with a bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
While the rear side will offer only one camera sensor, the front side will have a dual camera with LED Flash. Interestingly, the fingerprint sensor is housed on the rear side instead of embedding them onto the physical home button.
We recently exposed the news of a promotional video, which was aired on ABS-CBN Lifestyle news channel in the Philippines. We spotted several models who were seen capturing selfies with the black colored smartphone. The video clearly exposed the bezel-free display with 18:9 ratio with a dual camera mechanism on the front.
On the specifications front, the Oppo F5 will be equipped with a 6-inch FHD+ (2880×1440, 18:9) display, Snapdragon 660 processor, 6GB RAM coupled with 64GB internal storage.
The rear camera will offer a 20MP sensor, while the front-facing camera will ship with dual sensors comprising of 16MP sensors. A 4000mAh battery will be capable of delivering a standby time of four days upon normal usage. However, the backup will vary depending upon conditions.
We don’t have any information about the expected price of the smartphone. However, we will know the details after the launch on October 26. That said, be prepared to pay more because of the premium features.
