Xiaomi has officially launched the much-anticipated Mi MIX 2 in India. During the launch event, Jai Mani revealed that the Mi MIX 2 will meet the growing expectations of the changing lifestyle of the people. The attraction of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is the addition of a 6-inch bezel-less display coupled with Snapdragon 835 processor. Moreover, the aspect ratio of the display is 18:9 and it provides a premium visual experience. Moreover, the phone comes with an ultrasonic sensor instead of proximity.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is designed using a ceramic material with a 7-series aluminum frame and will be Flipkart exclusive. The phone will be available on October 17 on a preview basis followed by wide availability in early November.
Design
Xiami has integrated a hidden sound-guided speaker that isolates sound through the frame and display. The facial recognition technology helps you to quickly unlock the handset. The handset is designed with a 18K gold plated camera ring on the backside. It also provides support for 6 modes and 43 bands. Hence the Mi MIX 2 is globally compatible with all 4G LTE networks.
Display
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 features a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, the display offers a pixel density of 403PPI with support for DCI-P3 color gamut. The phone includes minimum bezels on all the three sides. The bottom portion is equipped with a small bezel to accommodate front-facing camera and sensors.
Performance
Powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 features 6GB RAM with a 128GB non-expandable internal storage. The processor runs at a clock speed of 2.45GHz, which helps you to work with the apps and play games without lags. The 128GB storage capacity is the only model which will be available in India. You will work with MIUI 9, which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. We expect the company to push Android Oreo update within the next few months.
Camera
The rear side is equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX386 5-piece lens sensor alongside f/2.0 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilisation. The addition of OIS is a big bonus since it will avoid shaky images. The front camera offers a 5MP sensor with support for facial recognition capability.
Connectivity
Powered by a 3400mAh battery, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 measures 7.7mm thickness with a weight of 185 grams. The handset provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, 4G VoLTE including a wide range of sensors.
Price
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is available in India at Rs. 35999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The company is conducting a preview sale on October 17 via Mi.com and Flipkart. The phone will be available for sale from November. Xiaomi also revealed that the handset will also be available via Mi Home and multi-brand outlets. Flipkart will throw in several offers including cashback, discounts, and exchange in December during the Big Shopping Days.
