Honor, a budget smartphone division under Huawei has officially launched the Honor 7X in Black, Gold and Aurora Blue. Touted as a successor to Honor 6X, the highlight of the newly launched Honor 7X is the integration of a bezel-less 18:9 display. Moreover, the rear side features enhanced dual cameras when compared to the current counterpart.
The Honor 7X features a 5.93-inch FHD+ 2.5D curved display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and density of 407PPI. The display offers an aspect ratio of 18:9 with minimum bezels on all sides. The phone is designed using unibody metal to provide a premium look.
Powered by Kirin 659 processor, the Honor 7X is equipped with Mali-T830 MP2 graphics, 4GB RAM and will be available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage capacities. However, you will be able to extend the storage using the hybrid dual SIM slot. The chipset has been manufactured using eight Cortex-A53 cores isolated in two clusters.
The Honor 7X features dual rear camera sensors comprising of a 16MP main camera and 2MP secondary camera. The Honor 7X got rave reviews from the tech community because of the excellent camera functionality. It produced crisp and detailed images when compared to competitors. The front camera ships with an 8MP sensor with LED Flash, which enables you to capture accurate selfies.
Even though Google released Android Oreo, Honor 7X has been integrated with Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.1. We expect the company will push an update to Android Oreo before the end of Q1 2018.
The Honor 7X houses a large 3340mAh battery, which will be capable of delivering an enhanced standby time of over five days upon normal usage. The handset will be able to save considerable battery due to the integration of power-saving Doze mode. The handset provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS and 4G VoLTE functionality.
While the 32GB storage variant of the 7X model is priced at CNY 1299, the 64GB storage model will be available at CNY 1699. When it comes to the premium 128GB, you will have to pay CNY 1999. The phone will be available for sale in China starting October 17.
Based on the previous trends, the company will launch the Honor 7X in India in early January. We will continue to keep track of the developments. Stay tuned.
