ZTE Axon M (Z999) has passed through Wi-Fi certification. Touted as a dual screen foldable smartphone, the upcoming ZTE Axon M will be pre-loaded with Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The handset recently received FCC certification. With the handset passing through the Wi-Fi and FCC labs, the launch of the ZTE Axon M (Z999) looks imminent.
Dubbed as ZTE Axom Multi, the handset will be designed in such a way that it features a foldable design with two displays. It will unfold themselves to make one huge display.
The rumors suggest that the ZTE Axon M smartphone is expected to ship on October 17. In terms of specifications, the ZTE Axon M (Z999) will be equipped with a 6.8-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. The smartphone was recently spotted on Geekbench with similar specifications.
The upcoming handset will be designed in such a way that it features a hinge-like setup on the side that attaches itself to the secondary display. In all probability, the handset will be unveiled on October 17 and will be exclusive to AT&T.
The ZTE Axom M foldable smartphone will set new dimensions in the smartphone segment. Samsung also planned to launch a foldable smartphone but the company faced serious production hurdles.
If the new smartphone to be launched by ZTE becomes a big hit, then other manufacturers will also follow the same trend. It remains to be seen as to whether Apple will also follow the same path in the iPhone 9 expected to launch in 2018.
