Microsoft has announced the launch of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update version 1709. Moreover, the Redmond-based software giant also launched the Surface Book 2 including the availability of the first mixed reality headsets.

The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will e made available to all devices pre-loaded with Windows 10. The new version will also be pushed to all the existing devices in a phased manner. Commenting on the launch, Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President, Windows and Devices Group disclosed that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update provides support for latest trending technologies such as mixed reality, 3D including enhancements to gaming. The ability to convert images and videos into real memories is a huge plus.

Mehdi added that the PC is the ultimate canvas for creativity and empowers people to work in a meaningful way. The newly launched Surface Book 2 is designed based on the latest technological trends.

Fluent Design System

The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is designed using a fluent design system under the codename Project Neon. According to Microsoft, the new design language is a significant step in a bid to build cross-platform apps. The light, depth, motion, scale and materials fundamentals provide adequate room for rich apps to scale in a continuous manner. The main purpose of the fluent design mechanism is to create an engaging experience for working with devices continuously.

Story Remix

With Story Remix, you will be able to mix images, videos, music, 3D objects and text to deliver customized video content. You can also integrate advanced editing capabilities such as adding background audio or adding content.

Smart Clipboard

The concept of Clipboard has been rewritten completely in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Microsoft has added a cloud-powered Clipboard with which you can access the copied text from your Windows 10 PC on your Android or iOS devices. The moment you copy content, it will be saved in the cloud, which you can access with other devices. However, it remains to be seen as to whether there will be any privacy concerns.

OneDrive Files On-Demand

The Microsoft OneDrive Files On-Demand feature helps you to access files without downloading them to your system. You will be able to edit the file live. The new feature will be useful if your system or device is running out of disk space.

Advanced security
