Razer is gearing up to launch a new smartphone on November 1. Within only a few hours left for the official launch, the specifications of the Razer smartphone has been leaked. According to sources, the upcoming Razer smartphone will be equipped with a 5.72-inch IGZO display coupled with 8GB RAM. Moreover, the display will bear a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Touted as a gaming-centric device, the specifications of the Razer smartphone has been listed on 3G in the UK. The page mentions that the product is out of stock. However, it exposes the specifications of the rumored phone. The rumor mills specifically state that the design of the phone will be identical to that of the Nextbit Robin.
In terms of specifications, the Razer Phone will feature a 5.72-inch IGZO display manufactured by Sharp. With 120Ghz refresh rate, the device provides support for Wide Color Gamut. According to industry analysts, the refresh rate of 120Ghz is normally found in premium devices such as Apple iPad Pro.
The main attraction of the Razer Phone is the possible addition of Dolby ATMOS sound with dual front-facing speakers supported by THX-certified amplifiers.
The big problem with smartphones is the lack of sound through the speaker grills since they are located on the rear side and will tend to produce muffled sound. The Razer phone solves the problem to a large extent.
On the optics front, the Razer phone offers dual camera sensors comprising of 12MP and 13MP sensors with support for autofocus and LED Flash. While the 12MP sensor will have a f/1.75 aperture, the secondary sensor will carry a f/2.6 aperture lens. The phone will be pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat with support for a wide range of sensors and connectivity features.
Likely to be powered by a 4000mAh fast charging battery, the Razer phone will carry 8GB RAM, which is very much sufficient for playing powerful games and apps without any lags. Based on the latest technological trends, the phone will carry a 64GB internal storage. However, we don’t have any information as to whether the storage can be expanded or not.
The expectations are big since the upcoming phone is the first device after the acquisition of Nextbit. Based on the nature of the features and specifications, the cost of the handset is expected to be around $500.
