OnePlus 5 Pushes OxygenOS 4.5.14 Update With WPA2 KRACK Vulnerability Patch

OnePlus has started to push OxygenOS 4.5.14 update for the flagship OnePlus 5. The update is currently being rolled out over OTA in an incremental manner. The highlight of the OxygenOS 4.5.14 update is the addition of a patch for the WPA2 KRACK vulnerability, which has affected several devices.

According to OnePlus, the OxygenOS 4.5.14 OTA update provides bug fixes for the Wi-Fi WPA2 security vulnerability. It can be easily exploited by KRACK (Key Reinstallation Attacks) attacks. Moreover, the latest version of OxygenOS provides support for Airtel VoLTE and Band 66 of Chinese based Freedom mobile provider.

The company sources disclosed that the product team has been able to successfully optimize and enhance key areas based on the feedback gathered from the customers.

It will take few days for the update to get reflected on the smartphone because of the incremental nature. The company will roll out the new update to a small batch of users followed by a wider audience within the next few days.

To recall, OnePlus recently released the OxygenOS 4.5.12 update to address issues related to display. The latest update brings in bug fixes and patches and not the full-blown Android. We expect the company to push Android 8.0 Oreo for the OnePlus 5 smartphone within the next few days.
