Gionee has mailed press invites for the official launch of the Gionee M7 Power smartphone on November 15. The main attraction of Gionee M7 Power will be the integration of a bezel-less display coupled with 5000mAh battery. Moreover, the new handset will be available in Gold, Black, and Blue color variants.
The Gionee M7 Power will be equipped with a large 6-inch 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. The highlight of the M7 Power is that there will be minimum bezels on the sides paired with slim bezels on both the top and bottom portion.
Powered by a massive 5000mAh fast charging battery, the Gionee M7 Power will be manufactured using unibody design. The fingerprint sensor will be housed on the rear side. According to company sources, the smartphone will be capable of delivering more than two days of backup on normal usage.
On the internals, the Gionee M7 Power will feature a Snapdragon 435 processor, Adreno 505 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat on top of Amigo OS 5.0. The chipset will run at a clock speed of 1.4GHZ, which is sufficient for moderate tasks and light gaming.
While the rear side features a 13MP camera sensor with LED Flash and PDAF support, the front-facing camera offers an 8MP sensor. In addition to 4G VoLTE, the M7 Power also provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS including GLONASS. Based on the specifications, we expect the device to cost around Rs. 22000.
The Gionee M7 Power will most likely compete with the likes of Honor 6X/7X, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Oppo smartphones. If Gionee manages to sell the device at less than Rs. 14000, then it will be a real game changer. The company should also integrate interesting features such as a dedicated button for activating Google Assistant to generate more hype among the tech community.
