HMD Global has started to roll out November security patch in addition to feature improvements for the Nokia 7 smartphone. Launched in October in China, the latest bout of update brings in new security-related improvements for the month of November 2017 alongside enhancements to Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
In addition to network performance, the Nokia 7 update includes features related to power saver and camera specific enhancements. After the installation, you will be able to capture bright images due to a series of optimizations. Moreover, the new camera app also ships with advanced face recognition, color brightening in addition to reduced smear.
According to a screenshot leaked out via NokiaPowerUser, the new software update measures 172MB and will require a total capacity of 350MB internal storage space. With build number 064C.B02, the new Nokia 7 update is being pushed via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for it to reflect on your device.
On the specifications front, the Nokia 7 features a 5.2-inch FHD 2.5D curved glass display, Snapdragon 630 processor, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The highlight of the phone is that the display is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass. Moreover, the processor runs at a clock speed of 2.2GHz and the device will get the required Android 8.0 Oreo update.
While the rear side is equipped with a 16MP Carl Zeiss sensor with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF, the front-facing camera ships with a 5MP sensor. In addition to 4G VoLTE, the Nokia 7 provides support for all major connectivity features such as Bluetooth 5.0 and sensors. The smartphone gets the required power via the integrated 3000mAh battery.
Meanwhile, HMD Global has announced that they don’t have any plans to launch Nokia 7 in India. The company revealed that the smartphone is exclusively designed for the Chinese market. Hence, we can’t expect the release of the device in India. If you work with any one of the Nokia handsets, you will be eligible to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update. Moreover, the newly launched Nokia 7 will be refreshed with Android P by the end of 2018.
