With only a few days left for the official launch of the OnePlus 5T, an exclusive unboxing video revealing the contents of the upcoming smartphone has been reportedly leaked on DailyMotion. Upon inspection of the leaked unboxing video, we can see that it shows the forthcoming OnePlus 5T in detail.
After a short introduction, the presenter takes a knife and tear open the retail box. He raises the box and drops the smartphone, which reveals the new smartphone. He also tells that the smartphone is indeed the OnePlus 5T.
The unboxing video also reveals a build of the OxygenOS, which is most likely an upgraded Android version. However, there are no major changes when compared with the existing version oriented for the OnePlus 5. According to a recent Geekbench listing, the OnePlus 5T will be pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and not with Android 8.0 Oreo as previously rumored.
It remains to be seen as to how the smartphone has leaked before the launch. Moreover, the video also provides a comparison of the OnePlus 5T with Samsung Galaxy S8, OnePlus 5 and iPhone X.
The unboxing video also highlights the bezel-less display paired with a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. It also exposes the protective cases likely to be made available as an accessory to the smartphone.
In a significant development, the OnePlus CEO Pete Lau also revealed that the OnePlus 5T will be expensive than the currently available OnePlus 5. The main reason is attributed to the increase in the cost of raw materials. However, there are reports that the price increase is to calm down angry OnePlus 5 customers.
Lau added that there is a sharp increase in the price of the various components with enhancement in the quality of the devices. Hence, there is a need to shoot the price of the OnePlus 5T in order to stay ahead in the competitive market.
Cost of smartphone components is rising, but phones are also getting better. OnePlus users will appreciate what’s coming.
