Xiaomi has rolled out November security update for the Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone. Touted as the first Android One device, the Xiaomi Mi A1 will be refreshed with security updates and bug fixes for the month of November. During the launch of the device, Xiaomi disclosed that the smartphone is “created by Xiaomi and powered by Google”.
Meanwhile, users have already started to upload screenshots of the relevant software update page on forum.xda-developers.com, which exposes the new update notification. Upon inspection of the page, we can infer that the update includes November 2017 security update that not only brings in bug fixes but also enhances security.
After the installation of the update, the performance of the Xiaomi Mi A1 will improve to a large extent in addition to performance optimization. There are conflicting reports regarding the size of the software update. While few users have stated that the capacity of the update is around 467MB, other people have posted that they are receiving OTA update with more than 1GB size.
Xiaomi Mi A1 Specifications
Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 5.5-inch LTPS FHD display with 450-nit brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio. On the internals, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is equipped with a Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable internal storage powered by a 3080mAh battery with fast charging support.
While the rear side features dual camera sensors comprising of 12MP sensors, the selfie camera offers a 5MP sensor with facial recognition capability. The rear camera also provides support for 2x Optical zoom, PDAF, HDR including panorama and continuous shooting modes respectively.
To add disappointment, Xiaomi hasn’t integrated Android oreo and pushed the update for Xiaomi Mi A1 with Android Nougat. Xiaomi recently released a new Rose Gold color variant of the Mi A1 in addition to the previously released Black and Gold color options.
