HMD Global has rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the flagship smartphone Nokia 8. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global took to Twitter and revealed that the company has started to push the update for the Nokia 8.
Interestingly, the company had already confirmed that the all the variants of Nokia Android smartphones such as Nokia 2, 3, 5 and 6 will receive the relevant Android Oreo update. Moreover, the Nokia Android smartphones will also be flashed with Android P, which is expected to release in mid-2018.

After the installation of the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Nokia 8, you will be able to work with picture-in-picture mode, smart text select bar, auto-fill, background restrictions including the ability to modify the intensity of the Night mode.
It is possible to make use of the fingerprint sensor gestures for all apps. You can manually program the Wi-Fi in such a way that it will be activated in some locations. The Android 8.0 Oreo also includes new and refreshed emojis. The advantage is you can easily customize lock screen app shortcuts.
Commenting on the development, Sarvikas added that the company is proud to deliver pure, secure and user-friendly Android 8.0 Oreo for the Nokia 8. The company took time to test and optimize the platform to benefit customers to a large extent.
The main attraction of the Nokia 8 is the addition of the Bothies feature with which you will be able to click images from both the rear and the front cameras simultaneously. Moreover, you can attach the images to a video.
On the specifications front, the Nokia 8 features a 5.3-inch QHD IPS 2.5D curved glass display coupled with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Talking about the internals, the Nokia 8 is equipped with a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable (up to 256GB) internal storage powered by a 3090mAh battery.
The rear side features vertically aligned dual camera sensors comprising of 13MP RGB and monochrome sensors with Carl Zeiss lenses. The camera includes f/2.0 aperture with support for PDAF, Infrared sensor and dual-tone LED flash paired with a 76.9-degree wide angle lens. On the front, the Nokia 8 ships with a 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF.
Showered with water-resistant functionality via IP54, the Nokia 8 provides support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port including a traditional headphone port. The company also integrated OZO Audio capability to facilitate 360-degree audio recording.
Nokia 8 is currently available on Amazon India in Tempered Blue, Steel and Polished Blue color variants for Rs. 36999. The price will be slashed during Amazon Great Indian Festival.
