Oppo has launched the much-awaited Oppo A79 with advanced features in China. The main attraction of Oppo A79 is the integration of a full-screen OLED display coupled with 18:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, the device ships with facial recognition technology, which enables you to unlock the phone in a secured manner. The advantage is that only the user will be able to unlock and work with the device.
Display
The Oppo A79 is equipped with a 6-inch OLED FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The aspect ratio of the display is 18:9 and bears a very high screen to body ratio. The main reason for the high ratio is attributed to the trimming of the top and bottom bezels.
Performance
Powered by an Helio P23 processor, the Oppo A79 features a Mali-G71 graphics, 4GB RAM alongside 64GB expandable internal storage. The processor runs at a clock speed of 2.5GHz, which is capable of running apps and games. Moreover, you can extend the storage up to 128GB using microSD card.
Camera
While the rear side features a 16MP 5P lens sensor with f/1.8 aperture paired with a 1.0um single pixel size, the front camera bears a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. Moreover, the camera app provides support for various models such as panoramic and professional including time-lapse.
Battery
The 3000mAh battery integrated with the Oppo A79 smartphone provides support for VOOC flash charging capability. You will be able to quickly charge the device without waiting for a long time.
Operating platform
The Oppo A79 is pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top of ColorOS 3.2. It is possible to work with all the latest features such as split-screen functionality, improved notifications and enhanced power saving mode via Doze.
Connectivity
In addition to 4G, the Oppo A79 offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and also includes a traditional headphone port. The fingerprint scanner is housed on the rear side. The phone measures 7.1mm thickness and weighs 140 grams.
Pricing
The Oppo A79 will be available in China at CNY 2399 ($364) from December 1. We don’t have any information as to when the smartphone will be made available in other markets.
