Honor has officially launched the much-awaited Honor V10 in Black, Gold, Red and Aurora Gold color variants in China. The Honor V10 will be available at RMB 2699 ($409) starting December 5. The launch of the new smartphone assumes importance in the wake of the launch of bezel-less devices by several companies.
Display
The main attraction of the Honor V10 is the addition of a 5.99-inch FHD+ bezel-less display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. Moreover, the device bears an aspect ratio of 18:9, which is common in all the standard handsets with a bezel-less display.
Performance
Powered by a Kirin 970 processor, the Honor V10 features Mali-G72 graphics processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable internal storage loaded with EMUI 8 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. The processor is octa-core based and consists of four Cortex A73 cores running at 2.36GHz. The other four core comprises of Cortex A53 clocked at 1.8GHz.
Camera
The rear side features a dual camera comprising of a 16MP primary RGB sensor and 20MP monochrome sensor respectively. On the front, the Honor V10 is equipped with a 13MP sensor with support for Face Unlocking and fingerprint scanner. The integration of face unlocking capability is a step in the right direction since the feature has become standard in all premium smartphones.
The camera sensor is manufactured using depth-sensing technology, which is used to automate Face ID and the Animoji functionality. Moreover, the camera also offers support for AI scene recognition, super night view, HDR, slow motion, watermarks, filters and much more. The main advantage of the V10 is that the TrueDepth camera functionality is capable of capturing 300,000 points in 10 seconds, which is pretty high than the iPhone X.
Battery
The Honor V10 is integrated with a 3750mAh battery with fast charging functionality. The smartphone is designed in such a way that it will charge from 0 to 50 percent within 30 minutes.
Pricing
Initially, the Honor V10 will be made available in China for RMB 2699 starting December 5. The company is planning to launch the V10 in London on December 5 followed by other markets. We expect the launch of Honor V10 in India by early January.
