Xiaomi launched the much-awaited Redmi 5A in India at a budget-friendly price. Dubbed as #DeshKaSmartphone, the Redmi 5A is available in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants at 16GB and 32GB expandable internal storage capacities. The newly launched Redmi 5A is being manufactured under Make in India initiative in Sri city, Andhra Pradesh, India.
During the launch event, Xiaomi disclosed that they are number one smartphone brand in India as per the stats released by the IDC. The company has grown substantially at 300% with a market share of 23.5%. While Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A emerges as the 2nd and 3rd winner, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is placed on the number one spot.
The company also revealed that over 4-million units of Redmi 4A were sold out since the launch in March. Moreover, the Redmi 4A has changed the lifestyle of the fans and customers to a large extent.
Display
Available in Gold, Rose gold, and Dark Grey color variants, the Redmi 5A is designed using metallic matte finish coupled with the reading mode. You will be able to read content without any strain to your eyes. The Redmi 5A is equipped with a 5-inch HD display, which helps you to use the device easily and comfortably.
Performance
The Redmi 5A features Snapdragon 425 quad-core 64-bit processor alongside Cortex A53 cores. The processor runs at a clock speed of 1.4GHz. The 3000mAh battery integrated into the handset is capable of delivering a standby time of up to 8 days.
Camera
The rear side is equipped with a 13MP f/2.2 aperture sensor with support for the 5-element lens, HDR, panorama, and PDAF. The sensor includes LED Flash and also includes several filters for low light enhancements. Hence, you will be able to capture brilliant images even in extreme low-light conditions. On the front, the Redmi 5A bears a 5MP f/2.0 aperture sensor to enable you to capture awesome selfies.
Advanced features
The Redmi 5A is designed using dual pyrolytic graphite sheets, which will ultimately improve the thermal performance. Hence, the heat generated by the device will be less. The smartphone also includes IR Blaster using which you can control TVs, Air Conditioner, and other smart devices.
In addition to standard connectivity features, the Redmi 5A ships with dual nano-SIM card slots with dedicated microSD card slot. It is possible to expand the storage up to 128GB. The phone weighs less at 138 grams, which helps you to carry the device on the go without causing heaviness in your pockets.
Pricing
The Redmi 5A is available in two variants. The 2GB RAM is integrated with 16GB expandable storage and is available at Rs. 4999. According to the company sources, the first five million smartphone units will be available for this price. After that, the price will increase to Rs. 5999. The 3GB RAM model is infused with 32GB storage and is available at Rs. 6999. The smartphone will be available for purchase starting December 7, 2017, on both Mi.com and Flipkart.
