If rumors are to be believed, Oppo is gearing up to launch a new smartphone Oppo A83. The rumor assumes significance with a smartphone with model number Oppo A83 appearing on TENAA. According to TENAA listing, the rumored handset will be integrated with an octa-core processor.
The launch of Oppo A83 assumes importance in the wake of Honor launching a new smartphone in December. The Honor 7X is expected to launch on December 7 in London with immediate availability in India via Amazon India.
Based on the initial reports, the Oppo A83 will be powered by an octa-core processor running at a clock speed of 2.5GHz. The handset will be equipped with a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels, 2GB RAM coupled with 16GB of expandable internal storage.
We don’t have any indication about the processor model but we expect it could be Snapdragon. This is because Oppo always releases a new smartphone with Snapdragon processor. It’s Honor which makes use of Kirin processor. With Oppo A83, you will be able to extend storage up to 128GB via memory card.
On the optics front, the Oppo A83 will feature a 13MP sensor with support for autofocus and LED Flash. The front side comprises an 8MP sensor.
Expected to be loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the handset provides support for all major connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. A 3090mAh battery is expected to supply adequate power for the smartphone.
The TENAA reports indicate that the Oppo A83 will be available in Gold and Black color variants. With the arrival of the phone on the Chinese certification site, we expect an imminent launch of the smartphone within the next few days. However, we don’t have any information regarding the exact availability.
Even though there is no confirmation about the pricing, there is a possibility that the device will be budget-friendly because of only 2GB RAM. There is also a possibility of Oppo infusing a bezel-less display to boost sales. We will continue to keep track of the developments and provide you with updates. Stay tuned.
