Samsung has released a new phone in China in Platinum and Elegant Gold color variants. Dubbed as Samsung W2018, the handset features a premium design with dual displays. The main attraction of Samsung W2018 is the integration of a wide aperture of f/1.5, which is the first in any smartphone.
Samsung W2018 is manufactured using a combination of glass and metal. The smartphone features dual displays with a 4.2-inch SAMOLED display on the front. You will find another 4.2-inch FHD display on the lower side. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which prevents damages caused due to scratches.
The Samsung W2018 is integrated with Snapdragon 835 processor, which is the same as in the Samsung Galaxy S8 series and Galaxy Note 8.
The smartphone is equipped with 6GB RAM loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. There are two storage models. While the Extreme Edition offers 64GB storage, the Collector Edition ships with a massive 256GB internal storage.
On the rear, the Samsung W2018 features a 12MP camera sensor with the widest aperture of f/1.5 with support for optical image stabilization. According to Samsung, the f/1.5 aperture is capable of capturing brilliant images even in low light conditions.
Moreover, you will be able to create bokeh effect with a single camera. The interesting fact is that the camera automatically switches to a f/2.4 aperture in normal light conditions. The front camera offers a 5MP sensor.
In addition to standard connectivity features and sensors, the Samsung W2018 features a fingerprint sensor on the rear alongside a dedicated Bixby button. The phone is embedded with a 2300mAh fast charging battery support for USB Type-C port.
We don’t have any confirmation about the pricing of the Samsung W2018 ut we expect that it could be between $300 to $450 based on the nature of the display. According to rumor mills, Samsung is gearing up to launch a zero-bezel smartphone with 180-degree bending and stretching. There are reports that the rumored smartphone will eliminate physical home button and integrate Iris scanner.
