Microsoft has announced the launch of the Always Connected computers powered by Snapdragon processor and loaded with Windows 10 in partnership with HP and Asus. During an event in Hawaii, Terry Myerson, Executive Vice President, Windows, and Devices Group demonstrated the working of the first-ever Always Connected PCs named Asus NovaGo and HP Envy x2.
The main attraction of the new series of laptops is that it provides 4G LTE connectivity with extended battery life when compared with x86 PCs. According to Microsoft, the newly announced devices are the next big revolution in the technology segment after the emerging virtual reality.
The highlight of the Always Connected PCs is the addition of a powerful Snapdragon 835 processor instead of the regular Intel Core processor. Microsoft announced the partnership with Qualcomm in December 2016. In the past, the Redmond-based tech giant had established collaboration with Intel and AMD to manufacture x89 chipsets for various third-party products.
Myerson said that the newly launched Always Connected PCs are optimized in such a way that it switches on immediately as you lift the lid. With a massive one week of battery life and premium Windows 10 experience, you will be able to work with the laptop in a unique way.
