Vodafone M-Pesa Enables Rural Rajasthan Go Cashless Under Digital India Initiative

Vodafone M-Pesa has been constantly helping urban and rural residents of Rajasthan to go digital and adopt a cashless living style under Digital India initiative. According to Vodafone, nearly 75% of total customers who are paying EMIs of various banking and nonbanking financial companies will be able to pay their EMIs via M-Pesa app.

As of this writing, Vodafone M-Pesa now has 14 lakh registered users across 33 districts in Rajasthan. The company revealed that most of the users perform money transfers and payment of EMIs very easily from even remote rural areas of Rajasthan. If you are unaware, Vodafone M-Pesa is a secure mode of payment for all utility bills such as DTH, Electricity, Prepaid and postpaid recharges.

Vodafone M-Pesa has established a partnership with various non-banking financial companies like Bajaj Finserv, Shree Ram Transport Finance, Bajaj Auto Finance Limited, Capital First and Home Credit for EMI payments. Moreover, customers based in Rajasthan can pay EMIs via ESSKay Fin Corp.

Commenting on the development, Amit Bedi, and Business Head – Rajasthan, Vodafone India disclosed that the Vodafone M-Pesa has become a force to enable quick, safe and easy digital payment and money transfers for people living in remote locations. He urged the people of Rajasthan to simplify the living style with the M-Pesa mobile app.

Bedi added that a major chunk of people still doesn’t have access to a proper banking system. Hence, the Vodafone M-Pesa can be used as an invaluable tool to Go Cashless and live a worry-free life.

To download Vodafone M-Pesa, you need to key in the shortcode *400# via both app and USSD. The main purpose of the app is to empower users to migrate to digital cash and also to make payments for several utility services such as bill payment, recharges and fund transfer to relatives. The company has established over 7000 touch points across Rajasthan.
