Samsung CHG90 Curved QLED Monitor Launched: Features and Specifications

Samsung has announced the launch of the 49-inch curved QLED monitor named Samsung CHG90. Touted as the world’s biggest curved monitor, the Samsung CHG90 was launched in June and will be available in India via exclusive online store for Rs. 150,000. Moreover, you can also buy from all the offline retail stores across India.

Commenting on the launch, Puneet Sethi, Vice-President, Consumer Electronics Enterprise Business, Samsung India disclosed that the company has been constantly ahead in terms of consumer-centric innovations. Hence, the launch of the QLED curved monitor is very much in tandem with the commitment to serve Indian customers.

The main attraction of Samsung CHG90 is the addition of a 49-inch curved monitor with HDR support. The TV will be able to deliver enhanced contrast and color depth. The company also announced that the CHG90 is the first monitor to be certified as DisplayHDR compliant by Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA).+

The Samsung CHG90 includes an eye saver mode to not only enhance eye comfort but also obstruct blue light alongside flicker-free display. The curved QLED monitor ships with a 1800R curvature with 32:9 aspect ratio and 144Hz refresh rate.

The monitor also provides a 1ms motion picture response time to enable the monitor to prevent ghost images. In addition to dual HDMI ports, the Samsung CHG90 ships with DisplayPort, USB Hub, Mini DisplayPort including a traditional 3.5mm headphone port.

In a statement published on the official blog, Sethi added that till recently there had been no standard specification for the performance of the HDR on PC and laptop displays. In early 2017, VESA created and established the DisplayHDR standard.

The Samsung CHG90 has been granted DisplayHDR 600 certification. The main reason of the HDR is to elevate contrast ratio to up to 3000:1, which helps the large unit to emit bright colors with accuracy. It also changes the overall presentation vibrancy to industry-standard specifications.
