LG has rolled out Android Oreo update for the flagship LG V30 smartphone. The company revealed that they have already pushed the required update via OTA and will hit LG V30 devices across the world within the next few days depending on the location.
The launch of the official Android Oreo update is after a series of software bits released as part of the Android Oreo preview program launched in November 2017. The preview program enabled few select users to test drive the Oreo before it is released widely.
The purpose of the release was to gather maximum feedback from the customers and also to fix bugs. Moreover, the company also aimed to add several new features based on the overall feedback gathered from customers. According to LG, the product team has deeply studied over 500+ feedback suggestions in a bid to provide optimized user experience to LG V30 users.
With the help of Android Oreo, you can expect performance enhancements both in terms of the speed and battery life to a large extent. The picture-in-picture feature helps you to enjoy videos and run multiple applications at the same time.
Touted as a premium smartphone, the LG V30 features advanced features such as dual-lens rear camera mechanism coupled with enhanced audio capabilities. The company also revealed that they would launch the smartphone in few European regions such as Spain, Germany, and Poland by the end of December 2017. If the company launches the smartphone in Europe, then it would be the first smartphone to hit through mobile carriers based in Europe.
On the specifications front, the LG V30 is equipped with a 6-inch P-OLED QHD (1440 x 2880, 537PPI, 18:9) display, Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable internal storage, 16MP dual rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera loaded with Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
A 3300mAh battery supplies the required power to the smartphone. Moreover, you will be able to charge the device up to 50 percent in 36 minutes. If you look at the LG V30+, you will be able to enjoy 128GB expandable storage. The remaining specifications are same. The rear camera provides support for PDAF, laser autofocus, LED Flash, HDR including face detection. The phone also includes an integrated Hi-Fi Quad DAC bundled with B&O Play.
To download the Android Oreo update on LG V30, you need to click on the notification. You can also tap on the settings icon and locate the update checking option. Alternatively, you can also establish connectivity to the LG Bridge program.
