Amazon India has announced that the Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot and other smart speakers in the Echo series will cost more from January 1. Amazon Echo series was launched during Diwali at 30 percent discount along with Amazon Prime subscription for one year. The latest news is that the e-commerce provider will remove the 30 percent discount offer and the Amazon Echo series will be available at retail price.
To boost the initial sales, Amazon provided exciting cash backs during Diwali. We are already using Amazon Echo Dot and finding it very useful even though the smart speaker had few technical problems. Amazon has already updated Alexa voice assistant several times to enable you to work effectively.
If you would like to experience and work with Amazon Echo, you should buy before December 31 because the speaker is available at Rs. 6999. If you purchase Amazon Echo powered by Dolby speakers on January 1, you need to pay Rs. 9999, which is indeed very expensive.
If you would like to have a small speaker with all the goodness of Alexa, you can buy Amazon Echo Dot at only Rs. 3149 instead of Rs. 4999. It is to be noted that the price will shoot up to Rs. 4999 after January 1. Meanwhile, the larger Amazon Echo Plus will be available for Rs. 10499 instead of Rs. 14999.
To buy Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Plus, you need to request an invite from Amazon. Your account will be granted permission to purchase the relevant speaker and you will be able to add the product to the cart.
We don’t have a confirmation as to whether Amazon will remove invitation feature from January 1. You will not be eligible for 30 percent discount and one-year prime membership after January 1. However, Amazon will provide special discounts during the Great Indian Festival seasons. We can expect a festival during the upcoming Republic Day.
