Hyundai Motor India has registered overall sales of 5,27,320 units coupled with cumulative sales of 6,78,221 units in the just concluded 2017. The company managed to surge ahead of the target in a year filled with the launch of the new facelifts and the new gen Verna.
According to reports, Hyundai has been able to reach a growth of 10 percent not only for domestic sales but also when it comes to exports. The sales skyrocketed due to the launch of the Verna and the Grand i10 including Creta.
Commenting on the development, YK Koo, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India disclosed that 2017 has been a year of performance for the company since it surpassed the target goals. With a growth of 5.4% on performance, the company managed to sell a high domestic volume of 5,27,320 units. The huge growth is attributed to the launch of Verna, Grand i10, ELITE i20 and Creta.
Koo added that there is a positive momentum in not only urban but also rural retail segments. The strong after sales service coupled with low cost of ownership has gained the confidence of customers to a large extent.
When it comes to volume sales, the new Verna, i20 and Grand i10 had contributed immensely. The unique product strategy had helped the company to reach out to the people to a large extent with a massive spike in the growth.
According to rumors, Hyundai is gearing up to launch a new entry-level car with Santro-centric built quality. The company is scheduled to enter the sub-4 metre SUV segment with a Carlino-based concept car. Apparently, the car was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.
