Honor India is gearing up to launch a new smartphone with dual camera sensors and will be Flipkart exclusive. According to reports, the smartphone will be named as Honor 9 Lite and launch in China starting late January. Moreover, the device will be customized exclusively for selfie lovers with a high capacity dual camera on the front side. To recall, the Lite variant of the Honor 9 was launched in China.
The launch of a new smartphone with four cameras is not new because the company already released smartphones with two cameras each on the rear and the front. The main idea is to attract customers with some offering in a bid to compete with other popular manufacturers. It is to be noted that few Chinese companies have already started to integrate dual camera on both sides.
The Honor 9 Lite will be equipped with a 5.65-inch FHD+ IPS display with a pixel density of 428PPI. The display will have an aspect ratio of 18:9, which means you will not find any bezels on left and right sides. There will be thin bezels on the top and right side to accommodate sensors and physical home button. The resolution of the smartphone will be 2160×1080 pixels, which is higher than standard FHD-enabled devices.
Powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor, the Honor 9 Lite will be available in both 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB expandable internal storage capacities. While the first four cores are clocked at 2.36GHz, the other four cores run at a speed of 1.7GHz. It is possible to extend the storage up to 256GB via a hybrid setup. The smartphone will be pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo on top of EMUI 8.0 interface.
Based on reports, the Honor 9 Lite will have four cameras. However, the rear and the front side will be integrated with a dual 13MP and 2MP front-facing camera. The low capacity front side is evident because of the term Lite. With dual sensors, you will have 4MP front camera in total, which is sufficient for snapping bright selfies. The rear camera provides support for autofocus, PDAF in addition to LED Flash.
Powered by a 3000mAh battery, the Honor 9 Lite offers support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Micro-USB including a standard headphone port and sensors. The handset will be capable of delivering a talk and standby time of up to 20 and 24 hours respectively.
We don’t have any information about the pricing. The rumor mills suggest that the 3GB RAM model will be available at CNY 1199, while the 4GB RAM model will be slightly expensive at CNY 1499. You can also expect a 64GB model at CNY 1799.
