Xiaomi has temporarily suspended the rollout of the Android 8.0 Oreo for the Android One-enabled Mi A1 smartphone. The reason is attributed to the serious performance issues after the installation of the Oreo update. The latest reports via Mi Community reveals the fact that the Xiaomi Mi A1 will be pushed with Android Oreo update within the next few days after corrective measures.
Ever since the Android 8.0 Oreo update was released to Mi A1 on December 31, users were complaining about the bugs and issues after the installation. The unresponsive camera is one of the biggest problems. Moreover, there were problems with the dialer app and the activation of Bluetooth has led to battery drain. The users also reported about the issues associated with the Recent App button.
The company took to Mi Community and disclosed that the MyJio app with all permissions is causing the dialer app to get hanged. The main reason for the call related problem is due to delay in granting telephone permission to MyJio app.
Some of the other issues reported by Xiaomi Mi A1 users are the inability to work with the fingerprint sensor, unresponsive ambient light sensor, automated activation of Bluetooth and much more. It remains to be seen as to when Xiaomi will release a fresh update with all the bugs fixed.
On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is equipped with a 5.5-inch LTPS FHD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable internal storage powered by a 3080mAh battery. While the rear side features a dual 12MP camera sensor with f/2.2 and f/2.6 apertures, the front-facing camera offers a 5MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. It also includes 36 smart beauty profiles with beautification features.
The interesting point to note is that Xiaomi release new updates after a comprehensive testing process involving beta users. We wonder how these errors were not reported by the Mi A1 users who participated in the Android 8.0 Oreo beta testing program. There are situations where Xiaomi ignore the feedback provides by the community.
