BSNL has extended the validity of the select prepaid plans by 43 percent and enhanced the data packaged by 50 percent under Happy Offer. As per the revised pricing, the BSNL pre-paid plan costing Rs. 485 will provide 1.5GB data per day with 90 days validity. If you opt for Rs. 666 plan, you will be able to enjoy the same 1.5GB data per day for 129 days with benefits. The plans include unlimited local, STD and roaming calls.
According to BSNL, customers opting for Rs. 186 and Rs. 187 plan vouchers will be eligible to avail 1GB data per day with 28 days validity. The new plans are created to combat competition from Reliance Jio. However, the major problem area for the BSNL is with the speed of the mobile connectivity. When BSNL offers 3G, Reliance Jio offers high-speed 4G connectivity, which helps you to get things done quickly.
You can also purchase Rs. 349 and Rs. 429 plans with 1GB data per day with a validity of 54 and 81 days respectively. You should note that all plans come with an option to send 100 SMS per day.
Commenting on the development, BSNL disclosed that the company has introduced Happy Offer for prepaid mobile customers. The new plans provide 43 percent extra validity and 50 percent additional data with benefits such as STD facility, unlimited local and roaming calls. The company is hopeful that the new plan will enable citizens to connects with their friends on the go at a budget-friendly price.
To recall, Reliance Jio had slashed the pricing of all the monthly plans by Rs. 50 with free 1GB data per day. Moreover, the Ambani-owned company also enhanced the data limit to 1.5GB from January 9 for select prepaid plans. Even though BSNL has reduced the pricing, it remains to be seen as to how many people will opt for the plans because the company doesn’t have a system identical to that of Reliance Jio.
