If you are a resident of India, you need to link your Aadhaar number to the bank account. The Government of India has made it mandatory for the people to link Aadhaar with their respective bank accounts. The submission of Aadhaar is compulsory for those who open new bank accounts.
The Government has announced several deadline dates for the Aadhaar submission and rescheduled several times. As per the revised guidelines, the last date has been postponed to March 31, 2018. You can link Aadhaar number at the time of opening a new bank account or anytime by submitting the required KYC form provided by the bank.
To check whether the relevant bank account has been linked with Aadhaar, you need to navigate to uidai.gov.in and selecting the option captioned “Check Aadhaar & Bank Account Linking Status”.
You will view a message prompt on the top of the browser, which states that you will be redirected to another page or website. You need to select OK to proceed further. A new secured web page will be presented to you on the page as shown in the above-featured image.
You should provide your 12-digit Aadhaar number and security code to receive OTP, which will be sent to your registered mobile number. You will then have to proceed as per the instructions displayed on the screen. You will have to provide the OTP code and click the Login button.
In this way, you can easily verify whether you have linked your bank account with Aadhaar number, which is mandatory as per the rules issued by the Government of India.
It will show only one bank account linked to aadhar. If you have multiple account in different banks , this provision will not display all the linked accounts.
