ZTE Axon 7 refreshes with Android 8.0 Oreo Beta

ZTE has pushed Android 8.0 Oreo beta update for the ZTE Axon 7 smartphone. The company announced that they have started the official testing of Android 8.0 Oreo beta. The handset was launched with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and was later rebooted with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The Android 8.0 Oreo beta update is currently made available to select Axon 7 users who have enrolled in the experimental program. In addition to the Oreo, the latest beta update also ships with January security patch. The company has scheduled the total run time for the beta version for the next few months.

According to reports, the company is planning to roll out a stale version of Android 8.0 Oreo to ZTE Axon 7 for users based in the US by the end of April. The main idea is to gather feedback from customers and to implement the possible suggestions.

Along with ZTE Axon 7, you can also expect the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Axon 7 Mini and Axon 7s smartphones. t is to be noted that both smartphones include identical specifications and we can expect an update soon. The disadvantage of the beta program is that the update is available only for users based in the US. We don’t have any exact time frame for the launch of the update in other regions.

The beta version will be available only to select users based on the region. Due to the nature of the update, you need to capture a backup of the files (images and videos) before proceeding to install. We can’t fully certify that the beta version will be foolproof and hence it is advisable to take precaution. The update is a full-blown Android 8.0 Oreo and hence you should free up to 3GB of storage and charge the device completely.
