Nokia 7 Plus surfaces on Geekbench with Snapdragon 660 processor

If rumors are to be believed, HMD Global is gearing up to release Nokia 7 Plus smartphone at MWC 2018. The news assumes importance with the rumored handset surfaced on Geekbench. The benchmarking data reveals the fact that the Nokia 7 Plus will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor running at a clock speed of 1.84GHz.

In addition to Snapdragon 660 processor, the Nokia 7 Plus will be integrated with 4GB RAM pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. It is expected that all smartphones with Nokia branding will be loaded with Android Oreo. Moreover, the existing devices will be upgraded from Nougat to Oreo.

The Geekbench results state that the processor will run at eight cores. With model number HMD Global Nokia 7 plus, the motherboard model is given as SDM660. Even though the RAM capacity is mentioned as 3720MB, the default capacity will be 4GB. It’s common for the benchmarking results to show decreased figures because of various unknown factors.

While the single core score of the Nokia 7 Plus is mentioned as 1636, the device fetches a multi-core score of 5902, which is fairly a good score. You should be able to play games because of the higher multi-core score and 4GB RAM.

Meanwhile, HMD Global Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas recently tweeted that they are busy with the preparations for the MWC 2018. Hence, you can expect big announcements from the company. We can’t assure you of any new product launches but we expect few announcements and roadmap. You should note that Nokia 7 is China exclusive and there are doubts whether the Nokia 7 Plus will find limelight outside China.

In addition to Nokia 7 Plus, the company will also probably launch Nokia 9 and few smart home products at the press event to be held on February 25. There are widespread rumors about the imminent launch of the Nokia 3310 4G variant. The features and specifications will be the same except the fact that the feature phone provides support for 4G capability.
