Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has been awarded the prestigious Top 10 Economic People Of The Year 2017 award. The news of his election to the top 10 economic people was announced at the Top Ten Annual Character Awards Ceremony held on January 28, 2018, at the Beijing Performing Arts Center. The ceremony was organized by Sina Finance, People’s Daily (Client) and Wu Xiaobo Channel.
Commenting on the development, Lei Jun disclosed that he is very much excited to be included in the Top 10 Economic People of the year 2017 category. He thanked the organizers for recognizing his effort to make the lives of people easier.
Jun added that this award is not only for himself but also to 18000 Xiaomi employees who work hard all over the world. The award is a big thing and it’s not easy to achieve without the dedication and passion of his employees. He said that the award is a culmination of the joint efforts put forward by the whole team.

Currently, Xiaomi is selling a wide range of products ranging from smartphones to wearables and audio accessories. The success of Xiaomi is mainly attributed to the fast adoption of trending technological innovations coupled with a strategic retail approach.
During his speech, Jun added that Xiaomi has taken adequate remedial measures to consolidate the business model. The thrust is on the globalization and integration of new sales policies.
The company frequently push sales by giving offers and discounts to customers on a first cum first served basis. The launch of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is a symbol of a competitive design and the company has so far won four awards in the four major design awards.
