Xiaomi has launched two new smart TV boxes named Mi Box 4 and Mi Box 4c in China starting at CNY 349. The main attraction of the Xiaomi Mi Box 4 is the integration of a 4K HDR Ultra HD capability with support for Dolby + DTS audio and H.265 hardware encoding.
Touted as a successor to the Mi Box 3s and Mi Box 3c launched in November 2016, the newly launched Mi Box 4 series is powered by a powerful 64-bit quad-core processor and an undisclosed graphics processor. On the internals, the Xiaomi Mi Box 4 is equipped with 2GB RAM coupled with 8GB internal storage. The Mi Box 4 features HDMI and AV interface ports in addition to the USB port and will be pre-loaded with a customized MIUI interface.
The Xiaomi Mi Box 4 is integrated with an intelligent artificial intelligence technology, which continuously monitors the watching habits and tendency of users. The TV box will recommend the content based on the past activities of the user including movie reviews and commentaries.
The exclusive PatchWall mechanism with voice assistant capability enables users to search for keywords, weather, applications, calendar and others by making use of voice. In addition, to support for voice-activated smart appliances, the Mi Box 4 series also provides support for automated error correction.
Talking about the Mi Box 4c, the V box is identical to that of the Mi Box 4. However, the box features 1GB RAM with 4GB internal storage and is available in the Matte Black color variant. If you look at the Mi Box 4, the device is available in pure white color variant. Designed in a small square-shaped design, the Mi Box 4 measures 145 grams with 1.6cm thickness.
While the Mi Box 4 is priced at CNY 349, the Xiaomi Mi Box 4c is available at CNY 249. The Mi Box 4 is currently available for pre-order in China and will ship starting February 1. The Mi Box 4 is really a cool device and it remains to be seen as to when the company will launch the product outside China.
