Xiaomi has released 4GB RAM variant of the Redmi 5 in China at CNY 1099. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 with 4GB RAM has been listed on the official Xiaomi online store. Previously, the company had launched 2GB and 3GB RAM variants. You will not find any other difference in the specifications except the change in the RAM capacity.

On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 is equipped with a 5.7-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 450 processor, 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM coupled with 16GB and 32GB expandable internal storage. The highlight of the Redmi 5 is the addition of a full display with 18:9 aspect ratio.

While the Redmi 5 features a 12MP rear camera with support for LED Flash and PDAF, the front-facing camera offers a 5MP sensor with beautification functionality. It is possible to enhance the quality of the selfies using filters. The device is pre-loaded with MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat.

In addition to the fingerprint sensor on the rear, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS including a standard headphone port. The smartphone also includes sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light, and proximity.

The phone is infused with a 3300mAh battery, which is capable of delivering up to five days of backup upon normal usage. The new RAM variant model is available in Light Blue, Rose Gold, Gold, and Black color variants.
