Honor has reportedly pushed an update for the recently released Honor 7X smartphone. The main attraction of the Honor 7X update is the addition of the much-awaited Face Unlock coupled with AR lens selfie camera capability. Moreover, the company also optimized the Weather app and also embedded January Android security patch. According to reports, the latest update is currently available in China.
With software build number B192, the Face Unlock update for Honor 7X is being rolled out for the model number AL10. The news of the update rollout was first spotted by AndroidSoul. Interestingly, the Honor 7X is available in several models such as L21, L22, and L24 globally.
If you would like to check for the presence of the update, you should navigate to the Settings app. You will not be able to view any notification message regarding the update because the update is currently available only in China. The integration of Face Unlock capability is a step in right direction because several smartphone manufacturers have been adding this capability to attract customers. Moreover, the addition of AR Lens feature is also a big bonus for customers.
With the help of AR Lens, you will be able to add effects and modify backgrounds while capturing selfies. You can manage the settings by navigating to Camera | Modes | AR Lens. The newly introduced lock screen notification feature helps you to hide content. You can adjust the setting by tapping Settings | Security and Privacy | Face Unlock | Smart lock screen notifications.
On the specifications front, the Honor 7X is equipped with a 5.93-inch FHD+ (2160×1080, 18:9) IPS display, Kirin 659 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB expandable internal storage powered by a 3340mAh battery.
Before proceeding to install the update, you should charge Honor 7X up to 100 percent and establish connectivity with Wi-Fi to avoid excess data charges.
