Honor has rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 smartphones. Like in the case of all other updates, the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update for Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 is being rolled out via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the software notification to reflect on the device. After the installation of the update, you will work with EMUI 8.0 interface.

According to reports, the Honor 8 Pro customers in India have started to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update. Talking about the Honor 9, the update is currently available to International models.

The EMUI 8.0 interface integrated with the Android 8.0 Oreo update provides support for machine learning algorithms, which includes an intelligent context awareness, user behavior and intelligent resource allocation. Moreover, the refreshed user interface will consume less memory when compared to the current counterpart.

The update also brings in several features such as navigation dock, private space optimization, dynamic wallpaper and much more. You will be able to transfer files quickly with EMUI 8.0 interface. In addition to notification dots, the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Honor 8 Pro also ships with picture-in-picture, autofill and enhanced booting time.

While Honor 8 Pro features a 5.7-inch QHD display, the Honor 9 offers a 5.15-inch FHD LTPS display. On the internals, you will find Kirin 960 processor, 6GB RAM coupled with 128GB expandable internal storage. We don’t have access to these devices to check the presence of the update. However, we have Honor 6X and the company has most likely dumped it by not providing Android 8.0 Oreo update.
