Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 rumored to launch at MWC 2018 with 18:9 display and dual camera

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch Redmi Note 5 globally. The news assumes significance with renders of the two new rumored Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 smartphone has surfaced on China’s 3C recently. As suspected, the images reveal the fact that the upcoming Redmi Note 5 will be integrated with a bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio. With only a few days left for the commencement of the MWC 2018, we expect the company to unveil the handset at the event.

Upon inspection of the renders, we can visualize that the handset will offer a very thin top and bottom bezels identical to that of Samsung Galaxy S8 series. Moreover, we are unable to find any bezels of the left and right-hand sides. On the rear, we can spot dual camera sensors housed vertically paired with LED Flash.

The fingerprint sensor is placed beneath the camera sensors. If the leaked images are to be believed, we can expect the release of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 in Blue, Black and Grey color variants. The company has embossed the standard Mi logo along with other regulatory information on the bottom rear side.

In terms of specifications, the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.99-inch FHD+ (2160×1080, 18:9) display, Snapdragon 636 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM coupled with 32GB and 64GB expandable internal storage capacities.

While the rear camera will offer a 16MP sensor, the front-facing camera will bear a 5MP sensor with LED Flash. As usual, the camera offer support for PDAF and other sensors including face beautification capabilities.

The device will be powered by a 4100mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0 technology. According to rumors, the Redmi Note 5 will be available starting at CNY 1499.

Xiaomi is participating in the upcoming MWC 2018 and we can expect the company to showcase the devices inside their booth. Normally, a separate launch event is held to announce new devices but Xiaomi will most likely take a plunge by unveiling the phone at the MWC 2018.
