HMD Global has started to roll out Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Nokia 8 smartphone. Recently, the company released a beta version for Nokia 8 devices running Android 8.0 Oreo. The version was being updated with the February Android security patch.
HMD Global Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas took to Twitter and revealed that the company has started to roll out Android Oreo 8.1 on Nokia 8. We have given the tweet at the end of the article. The Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Nokia 8 includes a refreshed power menu, battery saving navigation buttons, new Settings menu including battery percentage indicator for Bluetooth. Moreover, the update includes advanced capabilities such as neural networks, autofill framework including a SharedMemory API. You can expect enhancements to performance and bug fixes.
Before proceeding to download Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Nokia 8, you need to activate Wi-Fi because the total capacity of the update is nearly 1.5GB. Moreover, the device should be charged up to 100 percent to avoid interruption. If the battery level is less than 50 percent, it is advisable to connect to the AC power before initiating the download process.
