BSNL confirms 4G mobile services launch in Arunachal Pradesh

BSNL has confirmed the roll out of 4G services in Arunachal Pradesh within the next few days. The company revealed that the 4 services will initially launch in Itanagar and Naharlagun regions followed by Bordumsa, Chowkham, Dimwe, Kharsang and Likabali Army telephone exchanges areas. The state-owned company had already pushed high-speed Wi-Fi hotspots in all these areas.

Commenting on the development, BSNL general manager Dilip Siram disclosed that the company has launched Wi-Fi hotspots at Itanagar, Naharlagun, Bordumsa, Chowkham, Dimwe, Kharsang and Likabali Army telephone exchanges. Moreover, it is a step in right direction and will bring the much-needed development in the North East. Meanwhile, Ninong Ering MP also added that there is an urgent need to boost the telecom infrastructure in rural areas to bring in the much-needed development.

Recently, BSNL had launched 4G services in the Idukki region in Kerala. However, the launch was soft since BSNL used 3G spectrum to unveil 4G services. BSNL is aggressively revising the tariff structure across Inda to compete with the likes of Reliance Jio. We expect the rollout of the 4G services by the end of Q3 2018. It remains to be seen as to how BSNL is going to compete with Reliance Jio, which is providing low-cost services all over India.
