Xiaomi launched the much-awaited Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro at a launch event on February 14. The big highlight of the Redmi Note 5 is the integration of an FHD+ FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, both smartphones are powered by a 4000mAh battery pre-loaded with lightning fast MIUI 9. In this article, we will compare the specifications of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in detail.

Display

The Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro are powered by a 5.99-inch FHD+ FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The device offers rounded corners protected with Corning Gorilla Glass to provide stunning visuals. Moreover, the device offers a 2.5D front glass panel, which provides touch and durable display. The interesting aspect is that the 18:9 aspect ratio is capable of offering a bigger display without any abnormal increase in phone size.

Performance

The Redmi Note 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor, which is manufactured using 14nm manufacturing process. You will be able to play games faster and also offers system-level optimizations. While the 3GB RAM offers a 32GB internal storage, the 4GB RAM model is equipped with 64GB expandable storage capacity. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor based on a 14nm manufacturing process. The 4GB RAM offers a 64GB storage, while 6GB RAM model ships with a 64GB storage.

Redmi Note 5 Camera

The Redmi Note 5 carries a 12MP rear camera which includes a 1.25um large pixel, which ensures capturing of breath-taking photos in low-light conditions. You will be able to capture awesome selfies with the 5MP front camera even in low light conditions. You can also enhance the quality of the selfies using Beautify 3.0 technology. When it comes to the Pro, the smartphone features dual sensors comprising of 12MP and 5MP Sony IMX486 sensors. On the front, you have a 20MP camera with soft selfie light technology.

Redmi Note 5 Battery

The newly launched Redmi Noye 5 series smartphones are powered by a 4000mAh battery, which is capable of delivering two days of backup time. According to Xiaomi, the smartphones can deliver a standby time of up to 17 days and around 165 hours of music playback. It also offers 15 hours of video playback. Even though the overall battery consumption will vary, the addition of 4000mAh battery is a big bonus since it will provide atleast 4 days of backup upon normal usage.

Operating Platform

The series smartphones are pre-loaded with MIUI 9, which is not only lightning fast but also consumes less power. According to Xiaomi, the addition of a dual graphene sheet is capable of reducing device temperature and also enhances performance to a large extent.

Advanced Features

The Note 5 series is embedded with LPDDR4X RAM, which improved the performance and also reduces power consumption by 30 percent. The Redmi Note 5 Pro has been integrated with face unlock technology using which you can unlock within 0.2 seconds. The Beautify 4.0 is exclusively optimized for Indian conditions, which preserves Bindi and beards.

Pricing

The Redmi Note 5 is available in both 3GB and 4GB RAM capacities. The 3GB RAM model coupled with 32GB storage is priced at Rs. 9999. However, the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage will cost Rs. 11999. When it comes to the Pro model, the 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM models are available at Rs. 13999 and Rs. 16999 respectively. You can purchase the new smartphones on February 22, 12 PM. However, you will have to wait more time to buy 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of Redmi Note 5 Pro.
