If rumors are to be believed, the upcoming LG G7 will ship with the next-generation Boombox Speaker. The news was reported by letsgodigital and it assumes great importance since LG G6 shipped with a single speaker. The Boombox speaker smartphone will most likely compete with the likes of speakers included with HTC and Lenovo smartphones.
The presence of Boombox Speaker system in the LG G7 smartphone has been revealed from two trademark applications filed by LG Corp. According to sources, the company applied to the USPTO for a trademark for LG Boombox Speaker on February 1. The same trademark was also submitted to EUIPO. The latest report indicates that both applications have been approved.
Upon inspection of the trademark application, we can see that the trademark for the Boombox Speaker has been classified as shown below

The latest trend is towards the integration of stereo speakers because the Galaxy S9 expected to be unveiled a the MWC 2018 will ship with a dual speaker system. Even though the currently available LG G6 comes with a single speaker, the sound quality is not bad. Hence, you can guess how good the Boombox speaker will be. It will certainly set new trends in the smartphone segment.
On the specifications front, the forthcoming LG G7 will feature a 6.1-inch FullVision MLCD+ display, Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB expandable internal storage. The rear side will bear dual camera sensors comprising of 16MP sensors with f/1.6 aperture.
The device is resistant to water via IP68 alongside MIL-810G standard. In addition to wireless charging, the LG G7 will also provide support for HDR10 and AI-based digital assistant. We expect the company to announce the smartphone at MWC 2018 with final availability around June 2018.
