Idea 4G VoLTE launched in closed doors for employees

Idea Cellular has announced the launch of the much-anticipated 4G VoLTE in select regions from March 1. The company disclosed that the 4G VoLTE services will be initially rolled out for the employees followed by commercial launch. The launch is very much identical to that of the 4G rollout as done by Reliance Jio in 2016.

According to Idea, the 4G VoLTE will help you to experience uninterrupted Internet experience with unlimited voice services. The 4G VoLTE services will initially launch in over 30 cities across four telecom circles. The initial list of the cities are as follows

  • Kochi
  • Trivandrum
  • Calicut
  • Pune
  • Goa
  • Nashik
  • Nagpur
  • Ahmedabad
  • Surat
  • Rajkot
  • Hyderabad

The company is working in such a way to infuse the 4G VoLTE services in 20 circles by the end of April. The service will be available free of cost for employees and will help them to work with ultra high definition call quality when compared with the standard voice call.

It is possible to automatically route the services to 3G or 2G network after migration to 4G, which ensures uninterrupted connectivity. The company is also planning to establish partnerships with several handset companies to manufacture Idea VoLTE compatible devices before the official launch.

It remains to be seen as to how Idea 4G VoLTE will be able to compete with the trending Reliance Jio 4G. The Jio has so far attracted several customers by pushing excellent offers and cashback from time to time.
