Asus has announced the launch of the ZenFone 5 series at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona. The company released ZenFone 5Z, ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5 Lite, ZenFone Max (M1) including ASUS NovaGo, which is the world’s first Gigabit LTE-capable laptop.
The newly launched ZenFone 5 series ships with 6.2-inch display coupled with dual camera mechanism. Moreover, the smartphones take advantage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and bezel-less display alongside 90% screen-to-body ratio. The device will be compact when compared with the conventional 5.5-inch smartphones.
Commenting on the development, Asus CEO Jerry Shen disclosed that the company has embarked on the ZenFone project four years ago with the idea to create empowering luxury for everyone to enjoy. He added that the ZenFone 5 series is the most intelligent smartphone by leveraging the rich benefits of advanced AI algorithms and big data analytics.
During the event at the MWC 2018, Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon disclosed that they are excited to work with Asus to bring the latest advancements in mobile to consumers with the ZenFone 5 Series. While ZenFone 5Z is integrated with Snapdragon 845 processor with AIE, the ZenFone 5 features Snapdragon 636 processor with dual cameras and AI. The ZenFone 5 Lite features a 6-inch display with high-resolution four camera system and 120-degree wide-angle camera.
Asus ZenFone 5Z
Asus ZenFone 5Z features a 6.2-inch bezel-less display with 90% screen-to-body ratio, Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with an exclusive AI-centric platform comprising of Hexagon 685 Vector DSP, Adreno 630 Graphics, and Kryo 385 CPU. The handset also offers Snapdragon X20 Gigabit LTE modem, which is capable of delivering wireless fiber experience. The device will offer 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, which helps not only to deliver excellent performance but also enhanced power efficiency.
Asus ZenFone 5
Asus ZenFone 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 636 processor, a dual-camera mechanism with an excellent design. The addition of Asus AI Boost will optimize the performance of games and other crucial tasks. The devices bear an intelligent dual-camera mechanism, which delivers perfect photos with Sony IMX363 sensor. The camera also provides support for four-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), AI Scene Detection for 16 different scenes and objects, AI Photo Learning, Real-time Portrait and Real-time Beautification.
ZenFone 5 Lite
The Asus ZenFone 5 Lite features a 6-inch FHD+ IPS Full View display, 16MP rear camera, 20MP front-facing camera coupled with a secondary 120-degree wide-angle camera at both rear and front. The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor with an optimized 3300mAh battery. The device offers advanced security features such as NFC, rapid face unlock and fingerprint recognition.
Asus ZenFone Max (M1)
The main highlight of the Asus ZenFone Max (M1) is the integration of a powerful 4000mAh battery paired with dual rear cameras and fingerprint sensor. The phone is designed using metallic-finish, which looks not only ergonomic but also comfortable to hold. It also provides a comfortable grip.
Asus NovaGo
Asus NovaGo is the first Gigabit LTE-enabled laptop designed to enhance mobility and performance of users to a large extent. Powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor, the Asus NovaGo features a Snapdragon X16 Gigabit LTE modem, 2×2 11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5 support. The laptop is capable of delivering 22-hour battery life with 30 days of standby time. The addition of eSIM will help users to enjoy seamless connectivity across borders. If you charge for 15 minutes, you will get up to five hours of battery life. According to Asus, NovaGo will meet the expectations of tech-savvy users who would like to experience uninterrupted computing on the go. The laptop will also ship with features such as Windows Hello, Windows Ink, and Cortana.
