Xiaomi has officially rolled out MIUI 9 stable global ROM update for a wide range of devices. Manu Kumar Jain, Global Vice President at Xiaomi took to Twitter and revealed that MIUI 9 is now available for all devices as per the promise made by the company. Jain added that the company is committed to provide the best and the latest OS to all MI fans. Hence, the company has provided MIUI 9 updates even for devices that are launched four years back such as MI 3, Redmi Note and Redmi 1S.
The MIUI 9 will be available to all smartphones via OTA in several batches. Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your devices depending upon the location. Alternatively, you can manually verify for the presence of the update by tapping Software Settings from within your device.

According to Xiaomi, the data stored inside the devices won’t get damaged since the update is a stable update. However, it is advisable to capture a backup of all your data before proceeding to download the update. In addition to an improved performance, the MIUI 9 update will also provide system optimizations, refreshed user interface, new notifications, and app animations.

If you are unaware, the MIUI is available in two different ROM versions such as developer and stable. The developer version is updated every week with new features, bug fixes, and improvements but will have minor bugs. However, the stable version is updated once a month or two months depending on the product team discretion. The aim is to provide customers with a stable update instead of an update with bugs.
The MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM also provides support for full-screen gestures for Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Mi MIX smartphones. MOrover, the update also offers iPhone X-centric full-screen support. IN addition to the above devices, the new feature will also be available in Mi MIX 2, Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5.
The MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM for Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max 2 is being released in batches. The devices will get the update only in batches. If you are unable to view a notification, you should either wait and manually check for the presence of the update. You can also download the update directly from the Mi downloads page.
