Lenovo S5 teaser signals full screen display and face unlock capabilities

Lenovo is gearing up to launch the much-awaited Lenovo S5 in China on March 20. The company has released a teaser on Weibo, which showcases the core features of the upcoming Lenovo S5 smartphone. The teaser has been shared by Lenovo executive Chang Cheng. There are reports that the company will unveil Red color variant of the handset.

Expected to ship with a metal unibody design, the Lenovo S5 is integrated with a full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio. we are unable to visualize any bezels on the left and right-hand sides including the top and bottom. The rear side will feature a dual camera with an integrated portrait mode for bokeh effect and face beautification mode. You will be able to unlock the smartphone using face and the device includes a highly sensitive fingerprint sensor.

In addition to an AI-powered smart engine, the Lenovo S5 will have a refined UI, which is capable of delivering an enhanced battery life when compared with other competing smartphones. The device will also provide support for a payment solution similar to that of the Apple Pay.

Under the hood, the Lenovo S5 is equipped with a Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. As per the reports, the Lenovo S5 will most likely be equipped with a massive 6000mAh battery and will be available in the Red color variant. According to unofficial sources, the handset will be capable of delivering a backup of more than five days due to power saving features.

That said, you should accept the above facts only with a pinch of salt since there is no official confirmation. We don’t have any information about the expected price of the device but we expect it to be oriented for budget consumers. We will have to wait until March 20 for the launch of the smartphone.
