Triumph Motorcycles has announced the official launch date of the new 2018 Triumph Tiger Range motorcycles in India. According to sources, the 2018 Triumph Tiger Range comprising of Tiger 1200 and 800 will be launched on March 21. Interestingly, the company will drop the explorer name for the new 1200cc bike and will be renamed as Tiger 1200.
Originally showcased at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show held in Italy, the Tiger 800 is equipped with an enhanced version of the 800cc three-cylinder engine. The engine is capable of delivering 94bhp and 79Nm of torque. The Tiger 800 will ship with a shorter first gear, which improves not only the off-road traction but also low-end response, acceleration and an improved lighter exhaust system.
The upcoming Tiger motorcycle series will be designed using a sharp and aggressive front end with new LED headlamps. Moreover, the company has used new painting mechanisms and decals including integration of a new TFT instrument cluster on budget-friendly models. the base trim of the tiger 800 will offer an LCD instrument display and will ship in five variants such as XR, XCx, XRx, XRt, and XCa.
Meanwhile, the Tiger 1200 will provide support for LED headlamps, adjustable TFT screen, adaptive cornering lights in addition to new riding modes. The company will most likely release the XR trims even though the range includes a dual XC trims.
On the pricing front, the 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 will cost Rs. 15 lakh and the Tiger 1200 will be priced at Rs. 18 lakh. The company has already started bookings for the new adventure bikes and will be delivered shortly after the launch.
