Maruti Suzuki has announced that the overall bookings for the recently released Swift have crossed 90000 in less than two months. The company had launched the vehicle at Auto Expo 2018 although the booking was started in January.
The total booking of 90000 units for the latest-generation B-segment hatchback in less than two months is seen with great importance. According to reports, the customers booked Swift every minute. If the trend continues like this, the total booking for the swift will cross 100,000 within one week from today.
The report disclosed that they are expecting a gross revenue of $1 billion from the upcoming Swift within 60 to 65 days of opening the booking. Commenting on the development, RS Kalsi, executive director, Maruti Suzuki India disclosed that over 31% of the bookings are for premium Swift, while 50% for mid-level variants.
It is to be noted that the previous counterparts of Swift got rave reviews from the auto enthusiasts. The trend will likely to enhance and is expected to gain popularity. If you examine the past trends, models such as Renault Kwid, Dzire and the popular Vitara Brezza have taken more time to reach the one lakh mark.
After the conclusion of the Auto Expo, analysts and automotive enthusiasts have been in an upbeat mood because of the release of several models. The companies showcase several variants of the vehicles which enabled the participants to test drive the features and specifications.
