Honor 7X was released with a large 5.93-inch FHD+display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Kirin 659 processor, Mali-T830 graphics, 4GB/6GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage coupled with EMUI 5.1 on top of Android Nougat. In addition to the fingerprint sensor, the company also disclosed that an update with Face Unlock capability will be rolled out to all customers by March 18.
To download the Face Unlock update via OTA on Honor 7X, you should require a working SIM card. Before proceeding to download the update, you need to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and change the smartphone up to 50% battery level. the company also advised users to capture a backup of all your personal data, phone book, text messages, images, videos and much more.
Due to the nature of storage space, you need not have to worry about the disk space because the default 32GB and 64GB are sufficient to install the Face Unlock update. Alternatively, you can verify the amount of storage by navigating to Settings | Storage.
According to honor, you can continue to work with the device during downloading of the update. However, the handset will reboot and flash several times during the update process and you will not be able to work on the phone.
We don’t have access to Honor 7X to verify the availability of the Face Unlock update. If you work with honor 7x, you can navigate to Setting | System Update | Check for Updates | Select on New Version | Quick update to manually verify the presence of the update.
To work with face unlock capability, you need to navigate to Settings | Face unlock | Enroll Face menu. The direct unlock option enables the device to automatically unlock when your face is recognized. If you want to slide the screen after the device recognizes your face, you need to select Slide to Unlock. If you activate smart lock screen notifications, you will be able to view the content of notification when your face is recognized.
