Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi Mi AI Speaker Mini in China for a budget price of $27. The major drawback is that the speaker only provides support for the Chinese language. We expect the company to add support for English within few months.
Touted to be the smaller version of the Mi AI Speaker, the Mi AI Speaker Mini carries a small speaker coupled with Xiaomi’s own AI assistant. You can’t work with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. The answers will be delivered via an exclusive cloud-based AI assistant developed by the company.
The Xiaomi Mi AI Speaker Mini features an intelligent voice operation and can be used to control several Mijia products. Moreover, the speaker also provides support for time management, weather checking, music playback and much more. If you request the speaker to play music, it will play using the Xiaomi’s own AI assistant instead of Google Assistant and Alexa.
According to company sources, the Xiaomi Mi AI Speaker Mini is capable of playing from over 35 million songs and audiobooks from the company’s own collection. the speaker also provides support for smart home integration using which you can establish connectivity with various home appliances including lightings.
With 210g, the Xiaomi Mi AI Speaker Mini is equipped with four microphones with a transmission distance of 10m and SNR value of 78dB. the speaker delivers 2W output with Impedance of 4 ohms. The Xiaomi Mi AI speaker has been listed on Banggood and will be available in China starting April 3. The latest release can’t be used outside China but we expect the company to release an international variant within few months.
