BSNL unveils new prepaid plans to compete with Reliance Jio

BSNL launched a wide range of prepaid plans in a bid to compete with private mobile service providers such as Reliance Jio and Airtel. the state-owned company has launched a series of new plans starting at Rs. 118. As part of the new packages, BSNL has introduced a new Special Tariff Voucher (STV) of Rs. 118 starting from April 1. The package will offer 1GB data coupled with unlimited voice calls for 28 days.

The catch is that the Rs. 118 plan is applicable only in the Tamil Nadu circle. The unlimited calling facility is also applicable for users on roaming except for Mumbai and Delhi circles. Moreover, users will be eligible to avail free signature tune, which can be modified for additional charges.

BSNL also introduced Rs. 379 plan, which provides 4GB data per day paired with unlimited voice calling for 30 minutes per day. However, this facility is applicable only for calls routed from BSNL to BSNL. This plan will be available only in the Kerala region for the 30 days.

In addition to Rs. 118 and Rs. 379 plans, the Government-owned company also introduced Rs. 551 Prepaid pack with a limit of 1.5GB data per day in the Kerala circle. The newly launched Rs. 444 pack will provide 1.5GB data per day with 60 days validity. The plan also provides support for unlimited voice calls for 200 minutes per day.
