ASUS and Flipkart announced a long-term strategic partnership to push the sales of the smartphones and other devices in India. As part of the partnership, Flipkart will become an ASUS premier partner and seller for smartphones exclusively manufactured for Indian market requirements. Flipkart CEO Kalyan and ASUS CEO Jerry Shen announced the detailed of the partnership today.
Flipkart will be the primary sales channel for ASUS ZenFones as part of the deal. The MOU signed by both companies provide customers with the opportunity to enjoy exclusive access to ASUS ZenFones on the e-commerce platform. Moreover, both Asus and Flipkart will join hands to create new products for the Indian market based on trends and consumer insights. There will be mutual planning and execution of marketing activities for ASUS ZenFones.
The partnership will be officially launched with the launch of the Asus ZenFone Max Pro powered by Snapdragon 636 processor on April 23, 2018. Asus is fully committed to the Indian market and consumers and will launch products to fuel the growth of the company also to strengthen its position in the market.
Commenting on the development, ASUS CEO Jerry Shen disclosed that the company has visualized tremendous opportunity in the creation of products and services that is designed to address India’s market needs. We expect to gain more insights about Indian consumers with Flipkart’s partnership. It will help us to build more suitable products for the Indian market. Shen added that the new collaboration will provide both companies better opportunity to provide delightful propositions to Indian consumers.
Responding to media, Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy revealed that Flipkart has driven the adoption of smartphones in India and grown the market through innovations and a deep sense of consumer requirements. The company will make use of the data-driven research & insights including technological prowess to build smartphones customized for India. Flipkart is confident of providing trending products of reputed companies at an affordable price.
In addition to the partnership with the Bansal-owned e-commerce company, ASUS also announced support for Digital India initiative. The company will also provide assistance to promote digital education in rural parts of India via its CSR initiatives. ASUS also displayed a wide range of smartphones, motherboards, gaming PC, high-end routers and even the first smart home robot Zenbo during the event.
