Facebook Messenger has been refreshed with the ability to perform real-time translations between English and Spanish languages. The company has deployed artificial intelligence to translate text conversations between people using different languages. The main reason for the addition of this feature is due to the growing usage of the messenger tool among businesses.
To begin with, the feature has been launched with English and Spanish translations of Marketplace conversations in the US. The company said that the feature will be extended to general users within the next few weeks. We expect the addition of several languages across various countries by the end of 2018.
According to Facebook, the Messenger has become a credible tool for businesses to establish connectivity with customers. The ability to interact with customers in several languages real-time will help them to become productive.
Facebook Messenger chief David Marcus disclosed that the ability to speak with people without any language barriers is a big boon for not only the general public but also for the company. He added that buyers and sellers in Messenger Marketplace would be able to easily communicate across several languages.
For instance, if a person for China types content in Chinese language, then people in India would find it difficult to understand. With the help of the real-time translations capability, people will be able to understand the content without any difficulty.
